Follow the Hide-Away Canoe Club on a 55-day, 1,000 mile canoeing expedition from the Saskatchewan-N.W.T. border to the Arctic Ocean in the summer of 1985. Paddling on three major river systems, the Dubawnt, Thelon and Back and crossing three heights-of-land, the HACC named a river flowing into Garry Lake after Eric W. Morse, the dean of Canadian wilderness canoeists while he was still alive. It was the era before satellite phones, which meant that travel was done in the age-old traditional manner with no outside contact.
